Hi

I attended the hypnobirthing course in May. My first birth was a bad experience which I had a C-section and no labour due to baby being in a compromising position. My recovery was awful, which made me extremely anxious when I fell pregnant again worrying about what the outcome would be, especially having a toddler this time round I was thinking what am I going to do.

When I took the course it made me so positive about the whole thing and was actually looking forward to the labour…

I was 40 weeks plus days when I started feeling contractions, I went to the doctors and got told it was just Braxton hicks, anyway this was the Sunday and it carried on, by the Tuesday I was getting them every 4 minutes so rung up and they said just come in for a check up. It turns out they weren’t Braxton Hicks and I was 5cm dilated and ready to go to the delivery suite. I went into that room, put on my music, sat on the birthing ball and started my breathing, everything I learnt on this course. I went in the zone! To the point I kept falling asleep and making myself jump on the ball. My mum said she’d never seen anything like it, when we heard about hypnobirthing I’ll be honest I wasn’t completely convinced but my god I would recommend this to anyone! And I will be to any of my friends.
